Softxpand uses the win 7 user profiles so you log on as normal but you have multiple logon screens and full separate desktops ect Gameing you say? well gaming on my amd system worked ok but the cpu would max out real easy and would reduce the fps but that depends on the games usage of the cpu like for example 2 minecraft games running would hit 98% where as a more graphical game like trine 2 would use more gpu and cpu would be at 70% and run no problem.īut then moving to the 5960x and the cpu bottle neck is gone and have no probs with 4 or more minecraft games at the same time!

It will only work with win 7 atm (7 is the best!) Installation is quick and easy and initial setup also easy but there are some learning curve to getting the games or software to play nice with the gpu but might be because I use both amd and nvidia cards in my system which reminds me you cant use the nvidia or catalyst control panel when In softxpand mode but that's ok as you can turn off softxpand and restart the computer into single user mode and fiddle with them(its not a problem). Iv been using the multiseat software (Softxpand) for about 3 years now on two different systems (AMD 960x4 black with 4g ram 2x5850s 270x then upgraded to a Intel 5960x 16g ram 780ti 2x 5850s 270x) and hear is my experience so far. If i can find a more recent example ill do it, but for now ill stick with mine.

This is with some peripherals, again not top end but it s good enough to game son a budget since i doubt you want to be spending 100$ a keyboard and 60-100$ on mice

if not remove one of them, second this xeon is the price of a 4690k but is 3.6 ghz and hyper threaded so its basically a 4790 for the price of a i5, i chose 16gb of ram so you each get 8gb, you can choose to go lower but for 1080p 8gb per gamer should be min, again i dont know how this works so i put 16, for gpu`s you didnt say what u were going to play so i figured 1080p so i got you a dual 380 setup for a nice mid range gaming experience, with a 750 watt psu, also put it in a decent case, its not the best of the best but the inside is what counts, Ok so this is 1200 without peripherals but it does have an os, ok so it has dual 1 tb wd blues, not sure how this dual seat thing works and if it needs separate storage for each.

Thanks alot for your help, and remeber to FIRE YOUR LAZAR BLAH! If you could make a partlist with 2 gpus and a good cpu, and a blue theme with perificals, that would be great. Pooling our money, and my parents we would get about 1000-1200. Heres my question: Is it a viable solution for me and my bro, and how would I set it up for us.

I found this link to some guy who made a 4 seat setup and all his kids played BeGone (A webbroswer/desktop multiplayer fps) on it.

But I wouldnt mind sharing a pc with 2 "terminals" if we pooled our money and our parents' to get a much better one overall. My brother and I want a gaming pc, and I will get one at christmas. Anyways I never knew the term was "multiseat" so when searching 2 users 1 pc all I got was vmware shit and horrid fps. I have looked into it before, and my old elementary school used a multi seat setup with 4 monitors for 1 pc, which was fine because it was 2008 and anything done on them was internet explorer or Kids' Pix. I recently watched linus' video about 2 players on 1 pc.
